Charles Dunavan, DPT, BSE, HMS, CTAS, is a pitching coach and biomechanics specialist at the Overhead Athletic Institute. Prior to joining OAI, Chuck pitched professionally for the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore Professional Baseball League.
Chuck earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Indiana Tech University, where he was a standout starting pitcher during his collegiate career. Over his time at Indiana Tech, he compiled a 20–8 record while pitching 183 innings and recording 218 strikeouts.
He went on to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Trine University, further strengthening his expertise in rehabilitation and performance of throwing athletes. Chuck also holds a Human Movement Science (HMS) certification from the Brookbush Institute.
Combining his engineering background, clinical training, and playing experience, Chuck applies biomechanical principles and movement analysis to pitching instruction and athlete development. He has also presented his baseball research at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting (CSM).
